He said: “Earlier, we scheduled the event for August 1 to 3, but we later decided to pave the way for the election activities.

“This year’s events will be unique as we have lined up activities such as cultural dances such as utse, chikuzile, maseseto and cultural foods such as crocodile meat, alligator meat, water lillies, food made from sorghum, millet, maize
and others. We will also have live performances by different artists, including Lucky Stars Band, Moffat Aligiza, Stanley Nyandoro Nthenga, Agorosso, Kefas, DJ Lome, Thimfu, Josy Star, M-One, Nafala Nayison, comedians Antonio and Alufisha
and acrobatics.”
Tsamdoka said on the first day of the event, people will offer sacrifices to M’bona at Khulubvi Shrine led by Paramount Chief Lundu.
On the second day, the celebrations will go to Nsanje Prison Ground where people will sample traditional foods such and witness a bonanza between a local team and another one from Mozambique called Mutarara United.
In a separate interview, the festival’s national coordinator Eric Trinta saluted the festival’s sponsors such as the Copyright Association of Malawi (Cosoma), Chibuku Brewery Limited, Nyasa Manufacturing Company, TNM plc, PreScane and Castel Malawi for their financially support.
On his part, Lucky Stars Band leader Boniface Ndamera said they have prepared to display Sena jive together with her dancing queens and The Soul Class Band.
He said: “I am always humbled and glad to work with the organisers of the events since my band focuses on Sena music. Our music is a mixture of utse, maseseto and chikuzile which reveals the true Sena jive.”
